EVT’s
goals are to create all-electric Tractors, Combines
and other Agricultural equipment that will replace current
technology with highly efficient, competitively priced products.
The High Torque Direct Drive Wheel Motor is the cornerstone of
this initiative. EVT has current designs for a 1000
Horsepower tractor, with efficiency ratings in the 97+
percent range, and reliability that is inherent in the simple
design that has only one moving part.
While
diesel GenSet’s provide an excellent transitional electric power
source and can be run at the optimal setting for fuel efficiency,
they can easily be replaced with more efficient power sources as
they become available. EVT’s unique High Torque Direct
Drive Wheel Motors require no clutches, gearboxes, torque
converters, differentials, drive shafts, axles, or final drives.
Only three wires connect the drives to the GenSet, allowing for
features such as independent suspension, and unlimited ground
clearances.

Shown
below is a 54” Wheel Motor and bearing assembly.

Full
torque is available over the entire operating speed range. On a typical 4WD system, each Wheel Motor develops 70,000 foot
pounds of continuous torque, with an efficiency rating over 97%.
Full torque is available even at stall, without overload or
overheating the motor.
No internal
or external cooling is required in this application. Precision handling is easily implemented, using an all electric
control system. “Wheel Hop” is eliminated since the
drive provides a constant, and consistent, torque across the speed
range using a system that is similar to traction control on
current automobiles.

in the table below are the typical efficiency ratings of current
technology as compared to EVT’s solution.
